Well I was tired of the jerky operation of the T-Maxx transmission,so i made an improvement. It is now a constant engagement transmission like the Revo.It was really simple to do,uses all off the shelf parts.Pics will be added later. First off you will have to remove the tranny, and then diassemble the case. Using your exploded view of the transmission, locate 4997 and 4998 output gears. Remove the pin that retains the pawl, and everything else except for the bearings.Do the same for both gears. Now you will need a yoke pin from a front or rear axle, install this in the hole left from removing the pawl pin, thread it in from the side of the gear that has the 5x11 bearing in it (the large one).thread it in until the smooth shaft of it protrudes about 1/8".Do the same for both gears Now reassemble the transmission. With this mod in place the yoke pins will engage the holes in the forward/reverse clutch bell (#4990)when you shift into forward or reverse. I have used this mod with my Big Block Maxx for several months now,it allows the slipper clutch to be more effective in its duties to protect the drivetrain.I am actually using plastic slider axles with absolutley ZERO failures. Now for the warning; It will now be possible to shift the transmission while the truck is in motion,be careful. Thanks To arceeguy from Traxxas Online community for allowing me to use his picture
